The Limousin region is known as the lake district of France and well appreciated for having a very pleasant and mild temperate climate, with warm and vibrant spring, idyllic long hot summers, colourful autumn fall and romantic snow covered winters.
Choice of 2 charming vacation homes located 45 minutes from Limoges airport and railway station, plus car rentals. Ideal for TGV high speed train from most European cities, or fly drive vacation from virtually anywhere in the world. Easy to reach from Europe via road network and from the UK via channel tunnel or ferry.
Situated in a very quiet and tranquil setting, in between a small woodland and gentle stream. Deep in the heart of the Limousin countryside, surrounded by luscious green fields, only a short walk to the village of St Dizier Leyrenne and its beautiful picturesque lake, with a tennis club, childrens adventure play ground and picnic areas, plus a World War 2 museum.
In the village there is also a medieval church, bakery, pharmacy and doctor, plus an excellent restaurant and bar, bicycles, horse riding and pony trekking are also readily available locally.
Both houses are self catering and detached well apart from each other, enclosed by a large fenced and gated garden with mature trees giving welcome shade in the summer heat, plus seperate lawn areas with shrubs and flower beds, secluded seating, boule set, childrens swing, sand pit and large inflatable paddling pool. Charcoal BBQ and utensils, good selection of outdoor furniture and sun loungers, plus ample parking spaces within the grounds.
What is a vacation rental agreement?
Short term holiday letting arrangement between vacation home owner and holiday maker/tenant, stating the date of arrival, departure date and length of stay, and outlining the reservation deposit received and the balance to be paid.
What attractions are available for people?
A very popular attraction only 6 miles away is Bourganeuf, a remarkable medieval fortified town with a castle and the church of St Jean. The unique historic stronghold was originally constructed between 1150 - 1160 AD by the legendary Knights Templar.
There is also a large supermarket with fuel station, plus a variety of shops, cafes, bars and restaurants in the vibrant town centre, along with an excellent local produce market, a very informative tourism office, cinema and a fascinating museum.
Also well worth visiting is Aubusson the proud UNESCO world heritage site for traditional fine tapestry weaving, with a gallery and many exhibitions and demonstrations of craftsmanship.
Limousin is known to the French as the land of a 1000 lakes, in fact almost every sleepy hamlet, village, or town, has its own beautiful fresh water lake with a sandy beach.
Nearby is the huge Lake Vassiviere and Regional Nature Park, 19,000 acres of land designated as an area of ecological interest. A haven for wildlife, as well as for outdoor pursuits and water sports. Catering for everything from sailing and paragliding to golf.
Just 30 minutes north, the evergreen forest of Les Monts de Gueret, is wolf territory, and home to Les Loups de Chabrieres, the renowned sanctuary acclaimed for species protection. Fantastic day out for observing or filming wolves within a safe and natural environment.
Also in Monts de Gueret is Le Labyrinthe Geant, reputed to be the worlds largest giant foliage maze, amongst other oversized larger than life, games and amusements. The area also has spectacular breath taking mountain views over the stunning and beautiful Creuse landscape.
The capital city of the Limousin region is Limoges, and is host to the worlds most famous fine Porcelain Factories. As well as the museum and many outlets it has the magnificent Gothic Cathedral. Also on route is Parc de Reynou an amazing zoological reserve and gardens with over 600 semi-free animals.
This unspoiled region offers a very unique blend of culture, heritage and delicious cuisine, together with a variety of relaxing and recreational activities for everyone of all ages.

We live very close to the vacation homes, speak several languages fluently and can always offer help and advice. Plus provide a chef, house keeper and cleaner, laundry service, baby sitting, and guided tours of local attractions. Also assistance with arranging vehicle hire, horse riding, fishing permits and providing bespoke picnic hampers.
What kind of tourists do you get?
France is the most visited country in the world, offering a very wide and diverse variety of activities and attractions. This little known region, is a magical land of rolling hills, valleys, lakes and rivers. Dotted with renaissance chateaux and medieval fairy tale castles. Creuse is a beautiful scenic department in the Limousin region, with an abundance of nature and wildlife, including the famous Limousin breed of cattle, wolves, boar, deer, reptiles and birds of prey.

We do not demand payment in advance, but ask for a small reservation deposit with balance to be paid on arrival
