Many people are looking for free advertising sites in South Africa, well look no further - this article took many hours of research and should help all South African business owners find good websites to list their companies and websites online. The most important requirement needed to be included in this list is you must offer some form of "free advertising" and you must be well known within the South African market place. So without further adieu lets start looking at what options are available to your buisiness.Boostasite.com
Ok, so if you have arrived at this page, your one of the luck ones, this site is targeted towards South African sites and covers all areas, including Cape Town, Durban, Johannesburg, Pretoria, Port Elizabeth and any other major city in South Africa.
To date they have over 8000 business ads including over 2000 businesses from South Africa. You can list your business here
if you would like to be included in the list. The good thing about boostasite is that your business will also be seen by many international visitors, since they are popular in the States.Locanto.co.za
This is a nice looking site, very clean and the home page shows a map of South Africa that allows you to choose your region, it is actually a free classifieds site but they do have a category for business services. When I browsed the regions I could for example see over 9000 ads posted in Pretoria.Junkmail.co.za
This site is also known as the self professed king of classifieds, but who am I to argue, they are very well known across South Africa and actually started out as a newspaper before moving a lot of their classified ads online. They have various property ads, Motoring, items for sale and yes you guessed it business services are also allowed.
Junkmail has been a bit hit and miss from me, sometimes they publish your ad, and sometimes not. They have proof readers so perhaps I wrote something that never agreed with them.Vottle.com
Vottle appears in my suggestion list, it has a page rank of 3, I did not see a place where you can post your website link, but you can place your contact number on your ad. Perhaps you can include your link within your advert body. They do not seem to have a huge number of users but it is still a well rounded site for you to check out.Adsafrica.co.za
When I found this site, I was surprised at the amount of classified ads they have, you can submit your classified and include your contact number, again you may be able to include your website link for your site on your advert body. Generally these types of sites are targeted at individuals wishing to sell items, for example they have over a thousand dogs for sale.Olx.co.za
If you watch a small amount of TV in South Africa you will no doubt have seen the olx advertisements. They are often very funny and have a catchy theme song of everything sells. I once again could not find a place for a website link so just try put it into your advert description. There are many ads already on this site and they serve the entire South African market.howzit.co.za
Howzit.co.za is actually a classified site come business directory, they have a good site that allows you to post your ad for free, after you register of course. They have a very large selection of business ads and a huge range of categories to choose from.
My overall view of free advertising sites in South Africa is a somber one, yes there are many people advertising and selling online but very few sites allowed me to post my website link and although posting a free ad was easy to find, the process was often long and tiresome. Boostasite.com however did allow me to list my business and display my website link below my ad.
I hope this list of advertising / classified sites has helped you see that local is sometimes best.
