What type of Musician are you?
We are both guitarists. Conrad is passionate about traditional Flamenco guitar as well as classical guitar. He was trained in jazz guitar though. He started out on the electric so he is a well rounded and very versatile musician. Letitia as the other member of the duet, learnt her guitar skills from Conrad. She also plays the violin and the piano.
Who inspired you to perform?
For Conrad, it is definitely Pacco De Lucia who sadly passed away recently. He is also inspired by his current classical guitar teacher, Abri Jordaan as well as some classical guitar performers abroad. Letitia is inspired by Vincente Amigo and Jessy Cook. Hillary Hahn is her source of inspiration on the violin.
Do you write all your own music?
Most of it yes, especially the Spanish influenced music. We visited Spain in 2011 and a lot of what weve experienced there inspired some of the pieces that we wrote. We are also inspired by nature and humans who show exceptional character.
For performances though, we include many familiar melodies so that our audience who might not be familiar with Spanish music, can relate to the music.
Have you ever recorded an album?
We are in the process of doing so. The album will be mostly Spanish influenced pieces with the odd classical piece in between.
The Spanish pieces will be a combination of up-tempo pieces with interesting rhythms and melodies, as well as soothing balled-type pieces with more of a classical feel.
