What diet do proffesionals need?
To ensure my body keeps its natural shape, I recommend a high protein and low carbohydrate. Also stay away from low fat or fat free, these products have been processed. Give yourself the treats you love in life too though. Remember you always deserve them
What dancer workouts do you do and suggest?
Just keep moving and always remember to stretch! Our bodies are our craft and we need to look after ourselves by keeping fit and supple. Attend as many dance classes of different art forms and try keep your heart rate up to ensure your heart is as healthy enough to pull off that killer routine
Are there many dancer jobs in the world?
More and more performers are being recognized and utilized for many reasons, be it entertainment, health or educational. However we as a community need to ensure we create our own jobs by networking and collaborating with businesses and fellow performers
How do you get your dance costumes?
My costumes are inspired by my routine, song choices and prop. I research ideas, ensure originality and get designing. All of my bespoke burlesque outfits have been made by Diva Disastar, SAs Dame of Burlesque from Black Orchid Burlesque
Did you attend any dance academy?
Yes, when I started burlesque in 2011, I attended a basic beginners, intermediate and professionals burlesque course with Black Orchid Burlesque. Not only do I enjoy performing but I do teach burlesque classes on a regular basis at private Hens parties and dance studios around Cape Town
