What is a therapist exactly?
I am a massage therapist. Like other therapist in different fields my main goal is to help you improve. As a massage therapist I manually manipulate soft body tissue - namely skin, fascia, and muscles. This can help all systems in your body: circulatory, nervous, digestive, respiratory, and others
Are you qualified to any standards?
I attended Blue Cliff Career College in Mobile, Alabama. There massage therapy program is 850 hours, including time in anatomy, relaxation, deep tissue, medical, neuromuscular therapy, and more. I graduated in September 2014. I also passed the NCETMB which is the National Standard for massage therapists. I am licensed in the state of Alabama, and insured with ABMP.
What did you major in as a therapist?
I am a massage therapist. There are many different modalities of massage I was trained in. There is the relaxing Swedish Massage, Deep Tissue, Reflexology, Hot Stone Massage, Pregnancy, Infant, and Geriatric Massage, Sports, Medical, and Lomi Lomi Massage. I also had classes on exfoliation and hydration scrubs as well as aromatherapy.
How do your fees and costs work?
With so many options of massage as well as different lengths of time prices vary. Some of the more common choices are a 60 minute Swedish Massage for $70, 30 minute Reflexology for $40, 90 minute Hot Stone for $120, 60 minute Pregnancy for $70, 45 minute Geriatric for $50. Visit my website for more options. New clients get $20 off their first massage. Military and First Responders get 40% off any massage.
Any advice for someone going through hardship?
While I am not qualified to give advise for financial or emotional hardships, I do know about the effects of stress on the body. Over 70% of medical conditions can in some way be linked to stress. Massage can give you that time to unwind and think about yourself. Massage is good for many body systems, including some benefits for high blood pressure.
