BE SAFE is a young dynamic Health,Safety & Environmental consultancy / Advisory company which specializes in the OSHA compliance of small to medium companies that cares for there employees Health and Safety, we are independent and have no ties with Department of labour we work strictly according to the Occupational Health and Safety Act No.85 of 1993 so to keep you in good faith with the Department of Labour
What are your skills and expertise?
As a former Fire-Fighter EMT with 24 years experience,many years of Health and Safety Representative for the department consulting was always what I was going to do after my time in the Fire Service,over the years I have developed a keen eye in identifying hazards and to put measures in place to prevent accidents
Did you study, or have you become self-tought?
I studied with NOSA and completed Safety Management NQF 5 with Hazard Identification & Risk Assessment,Applying SHE Principles and Procedures.I have gained massive exposure and experience regarding IODs and industrial accidents from dealing with them on a daily bases
Do you have any advice for people regarding Consultants?
Most health and safety consultants have been working in this field for many years and are passionate in what they do in my case I have been a care giver all my live and will continue doing it because I care for people and there well being.I dont believe in finding the guilty party at a incident but finding ways to avoid recurrence of such incidents
How long have you been involved in your industry?
I have been involved with Health and Safety all through my career as a Fire-Fighter EMT by inspecting businesses for compliance to City By-laws and by assisting in incident investigation at IODs and industrial accidents for our records in case of court cases
What skills are currently in demand in your field?
The health and safety industry is desperately in need of highly trained staff In Fire-Fighting and good First aid, almost all incidents I attended to over the years you will find that company medics are out dated with ever changing protocol and Fire-Fighting staff with no equipment to do the job
