DOT SAP Evaluations & DWI Classes - Our small agency provides various substance services. Such services include Qualified Federal Department of Transportation SAP (Substance Abuse Professional) Evaluations for people working in safety-sensitive jobs under DOT. This includes individuals working for the Federal Rail Road Administration, Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, Federal Transit Administration, Federal Aviation Administration, Maritime Administration (including Homeland Security and the United States Coast Guard) and Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration. We also provide SAE (Substance Abuse Expert) Evaluations for employees under the Nuclear Regulatory Commission.
The DWI Repeat Offender Intervention Class is another service we provide. We also provide substance abuse evaluations for Courts, protective service agencies, Parole and Probation departments, private companies, and individuals.
What is a counselors job description?
Our counselors are substance abuse assessment specialists with over 40 years total of experience. They have been providing the DWI Repeat Offender Intervention classes for over eleven years.
Define counselling with psychology?
Counselling is akin to having a life coach who is privy to ones innermost thoughts and concerns. During the counselling process, the individual is assisted in terms of addressing issues which may be problematic to them. The counselor is a companion, so to speak, in the process, often facilitating healthier thinking in the person receiving services. Certainly, the psychology involved encompasses the expertise in the areas of understanding human behavior, research, and the ability to positively impact ones client or a group.
What qualifications did you get?
I am a graduate of the University of Houston Downtown Campus (1986), a Qualified Substance Abuse Professional under DOT, a licensed chemical dependency counselor under the State of Texas with a level 3 designation, I have an international certification as an Counselor under the International Reciprocity Consortium (IC&RC), and I have a designation as a Substance Abuse Expert under the Nuclear Regulatory Commission.

In the United States, one might try the Salvation Army. In Fort Worth, Texas, one might try the Tarrant County Mental Health Mental Retardation Association. The latter has numerous programs designed to assist individuals who are indigent.
